Dress by Tere Tereba for Pam’s shop Themis

From sis_vintage on instagram. She wrote:

Fell in love with this dress at the Rose Bowl, spent way too much money on it and then started researching the label: “Malibu Media.” This led me to Tere Tereba, the designer of this dress. A super cool woman who got her start designing at Young Edwardian (!!!) at 19 (!!!!). She was friends with Andy Warhol (starred in one of his movies) and Jim Morrison and Pamela Courson among many others. Her dresses were in Pamela’s Sunset Strip store “Themis.” Time machine, please. 💜

Other dresses by Tere Tereba that could possibly have been in Pam’s shop.

Sharon Tate and the mysterious Moroccan djellaba

Sharon Tate, here pictured around 1969, with her husband, Roman Polanski, were customers of Pam’s store, Themis. She is seen wearing a traditional Moroccan djellaba robe.  Although, it has not been proven she has actually purchased this item, in Themis, it is almost certain she bought it at Themis, as only Pamela sold those kind of items at the time, in Los Angeles.

The following picture is from a TV program about Charles Manson and his “family”. Note below that one of his followers is wearing the same Moroccan djellaba robe that both Sharon and Pam are wearing. The Manson family were known to be thieves, or as they called it “creepy crawling” their way into people’s homes to steal whatever caught their eyes. I don’t know if the night Sharon was murdered they stole any of her clothes, but it is very eerie that one of Manson’s followers was wearing this same rare djellaba that Sharon owned in 1969, at one of  those “Free Manson’s” protests. The only one selling these expensive Moroccan djellaba at the time was Pamela in her boutique Themis.

Corsica

While in France and visiting other locations in Europe, Jim Morrison and Pamela Courson film several home movies using Jim’s Braun Nizo S56 Super 8mm camera. These films almost certainly include the last known footage shot of Jim Morrison before his death. At least some of the footage, if not all of it, remains in a private collection. The maximum length of film per reel would only be about three minutes.

Corsica is a French island in the Mediterranean Sea. It is located west of Italy, southeast of the French mainland, and north of the Italian island of Sardinia. Mountains make up two-thirds of the island, forming a single chain. Before French domination, Corsica was under the ownership of the Republic of Genoa.

Corsica is one of the 27 régions of France, although it is designated as a territorial collectivity (collectivité territoriale) by law. As a territorial collectivity, it enjoys some greater powers than other French régions. Corsica is referred to as a “région” in common speech, and is almost always listed among the other régions of France. Corsica is split into two departments, Haute-Corse (Upper Corsica) and Corse-du-Sud (Southern Corsica), with its regional capital in Ajaccio, the prefecture city of Corse-du-Sud. Bastia, the prefecture city of Haute-Corse, is the second-largest settlement in Corsica.

Although the island is separated from the continental mainland by the Ligurian Sea and is closer to Italy than to the French mainland, politically Corsica is part of Metropolitan France. After rule from the Republic of Genoa starting in 1282, Corsica was briefly an independent Corsican Republic from 1755 until its conquest by France in 1769. Corsica’s culture contains both French and Italian elements, and its constitution while a Republic was written in Italian. The native Corsican language is recognised as a regional language by the French government.

All Together Now

This photo, taken some years ago where John Densmore, together with Jim and Pam’s family attended court.  There have been times when people wanted to use Jim Morrison’s name to exploit him.  Also, The Doors legacy has been in danger of being exploited as well and so family from both parties would go to court to protect Jim. In this case,  this photo with John Densmore must have been taken at the time when Ray and Robby wanted to play live as “The Doors” and John asked the family to help him make it right. Without Jim, it’s no longer The Doors.

This photo was taken from John’s new book Unhinged.

From left; John, Jim’s brother Andy, Pam’s mother Pearl, Jim’s mother, Jim’s sister Anne and Jim’s father.
